ON THE CALL FOR PMB TO RESIGN

It's unsurprising to read that a certain a federal lawmaker from the north is calling for the President (who is also from the region) to take a bow and vacate his office on account of age and health condition.
This is not the first time such call is made from the northern region. Some notable figures (mostly his critics) have expressed their reservations in recent past. It's no longer news that some of our northern elites  are averse to PMB's presidency.

Again, though this particular one is different. The call is coming at time when the Presidency appears to be in a  cold war with the legislature.

He stated that the country is on auto pilot in addressing its numerous challenges as ‘so many issues are left unattended even small issues that a presidential cough can deal with are left hanging’

Though he chose to vent his opinion on twitter, a social media platform, titling the article as "PMB, TIME TO LET GO", I believe he should have written it privately in form of a letter or memo.

In the series of tweets numbering 1-30, the lawamker asked Buhari to let go while tipping the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari for a cabinet position.

He argued that "so many issues are left unattended even small issues that a presidential cough can deal with are left hanging.”

“Supporters are worried, understandably resorting to grumbling in hush voices while keeping bold faces and holding on to hope and prayers”

"Mr President can be giving a special concession to nominate a new VP. We should expect that he nominates a very competent northerner”

He also made plea to northerners 'to accept it as destiny for losing the presidency for the second time, adding that 'may be Almighty God is so disappointed with the present generation of northern leaders'

This call is coming at trying time for the Presidency within appears to be in a  cold war with the legislature, based on the recent impasse between the two arms of government on a number of issues lately.

The tone of the lawmaker in his piece is a one of frustration. The question to ask is this. Does his age and currrent health condition make him unfit for the top job? Certainly no.

The body language of the lawmakers lately (especially the senators) is clear. Their goal is to undermine the President at all cost. They have clearly exhibited this ploy in their scheme to make the Presidency appear weak, clueless and directionless.

No doubts the President is a human, like anyone, is prone to err, make mistakes and fall ill too. I believe this Presidency is determined to  needs to take bold steps to ascertain its relevance and also make tough decisions to avail itself from the onslaught from the lawmakers.

This is a certainly a distress call on the part of the 'hailers' and yardstick for further criticisms from the wailers . It is also platform for the another group, which I call the 'PSEUDO -HAILERS' to blast the 'hailers'. This third group are frustrated sycophants who have no clear cut aim, behaving and acting like they'd do better if given the mantle of leadership.

The lawmaker may have voiced his opinion. I  believe it is only a matter of time when the presidency will respond appropriately.
