Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is striking yet another mark in line of pragmatic developmental moves with the latest partnership by the state with the Bank of Industry (BOI).
The partnership, which is designed primarily to deplete the ranks of the unemployed but employable youths in the state, is expected to accommodate and train whole 30,000 youths in the areas of arts and crafts indigenous to Niger State.
The youths, the Chief of Staff to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Hon. Mikail Al-Amin Bmitosahi reveal, would be trained in glass making, brass making, raffia, ceramics and cotton, raw materials with which providence has blessed the state in abundance.
According to credible sources, the partnership would involve the state committing 30 per cent of the needed fund while BOI makes up the balance of 70, in a deal details of state government involvement in which a technical committee, set up by the Chief of Staff, comprising all relevant MDAs and Private Sector participants, COS office, SSA Entrepreneur has been mandated to work out.
It is also instructive to note that the committee which is headed by the Perm Secretary, Economic Affairs in the SSG's office, has just one week to submit it's reports.
