NIGER LAWMAKERS MOURN HON. ISAH SA'IDU




The death has occurred of Hon. Isah Sa'idu, a member of the Niger State House of Assembly Service Commission. The deceased died on Tuesday,  after a brief illness at IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna and has since been buried according to Islamic Jurisdiction at Kpagungu graveyard.




The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Marafa Ahmed Guni, other principal officers, Honourable members,  Chairman and members of the Assembly Service Commission, including the Clerk and Staff of the Assembly joined the family, relations, associates and do other Muslims faithful for the burial where a special prayer by an Islamic Cleric for the repose of the soul of the deceased was conducted.


Aged 59 years, Hon. Isah Sa'idu was born in Gonwa Village in Edati Local Government Area of Niger State.  He attended his primary and secondary school in Kaduna and later proceeded to Bayero University,  Kano where he obtained a Bachelor Degree of Arts degree in Mass Communication.


The deceased began his working career with the Broadcasting Corporation of Niger State,  though briefly and later as a reporter with Kano based Triumph Newspaper before resigning to join the British Broadcasting Cooperation, Hausa Service London as a reporter from 1982 to 1998.


Late Mallam Isah resigned to join politics in 1999under the platform of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP where he contested and won as the Federal House of Representatives, representing Edati, Lavun and Mokwa Federal Constituency from 1999 to 2007 where he was the then, Chairman House Committee on Commerce and Investment and it was during his tenure that the operations of the Corporate Affairs office in Abuja was decentralised to pave way for the State Capitals to have branches.


He was also instrumental and Championed the legislative consideration of the establishment and passage of the Hydro Power Producing Electricity Commission, HYPADEC. At the End of his 2 terms legislative assignment,  Late Isah got himself in private business in hotel  and hospitality business before he was appointed by the Niger State Government as member 2 of  the State House of Assembly Service Commission in 2009 until his death.


Hon. Isah Sa'idu left 3 wives and 17 Children,  the House prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and make Aljannah Firdause his final abode while praying to Almighty Allah to grant the families the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable  lost.


The 3 days firdau prayers of Late Isah Sa'idu is scheduled to hold at his Chanchaga residence come Thursday, 4th 2017 by 8am.
