Nigeria will maintain World Cup momentum - Onazi

Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi has stated that the Super Eagles are determined to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

The Super Eagles qualified for the last World Cup which was hosted by Brazil in 2014, but they failed to reach the 2017 AFCON finals in Gabon.
Trabzonspor midfielder Onazi was part of the recent Nigeria camp in London, England where they drew 1-1 with Senegal in an international friendly game.
“I am always delighted anytime I look at the faces of everyone in camp. The determination is real and infectious,” Onazi told TheNFF.com.
“It is a young and focused group; we all want to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018 and the next Africa Cup of Nations.
“We are happy that the NFF President is here and spoken very well, and we want to assure Nigerians that we will keep up the momentum in the World Cup qualifying race and at the same time go all out for the Cup of Nations ticket.”
The 2019 AFCON qualifiers will start in June 2017, while the 2018 World Cup qualifiers will continue two months later.
