Niger State commissions Corps member’s project

Niger state government has commissioned solar-powered bore-hole in Unguwan Fadikpe, Minna, a project initiated and executed by Hauwa T. Mohammed, a female Youth Corps member.


Commissioning the project, Chief of Staff (CoS) to the State Governor, Mikail Al-Amin Bmitosahi, who Chairman the occasion, clarified “Government would always support visionary and result-driven youth corps members in the state.”

He added Hauwa was just one of many of such supports given to corps members across the state.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on ICT, Abdullberqy U. Ebbo, the CoS commended the corps member for her unusual care for the community and closeness to the people of Unguwan Fadikpe, which he noted drove her into putting up such a massive project.

Hon Commisioner for Youth and Sports Development,  Alhaji Mamman Musa Bosso, congratulated the corps member for what he described as “her determination and will to start and conclude something as big as this”.

Bosso, who said government owe the corps member ‘a big thank you’ for executing a project on her (government’s) behalf, promised her automatic employment in the state on completion of her Service.

According to Hauwa who expressed her gratitude to the office of the CoS which she disclosed supported the project morally and financially, noting the project was sited in Ungwan Fadikpe owing to its critical importance in the area.

The state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Theresa Ibukun Arokoyo, disclosed she almost refused to grant her approval for the project, considering the sheer capital (monetary) outlay.

Her words: “I approved the project for her only when she informed me she had already made all arrangements and has the CoS words of support who she said was very passionate about the development of youths in the society."
