Kaduna metropolis yesterday recorded its first rainfall this year.
The rain was not heavy and lasted for few minutes in the different locations that it was experienced, including Malali, Barnawa, Mando, Kawo and Trikania.
Residents expressed shock as the first rain is usually expected in the state around April. They expressed worry that the light shower might further exacerbate the hot weather.
Hajiya Lami Ahmadu said, “I don’t consider this light shower as rain and I don’t think it will have any effect on the weather but if it continues, the better for everybody because the heat is too much.”
Another resident, Alhaji Abdullahi Bawa said the rain might ease the hot weather.
And some other individuals have said the rain would be a signal to farmers to begin land clearing.
