We Shall Factor Findings into 2018 Budget - Gov. Sani Bello


Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has promised to factor all the findings at the on-going mid-term assessment tour of local government into the planning and preparation of 2018 budget.

He made this disclosure in Bida on Friday night after reviewing his tour of Edati and Lavun Local Government areas of the state.

According to the governor, the mid-term assessment tour has afforded him and members of his cabinet opportunity to effectively guage the performance of both the state and local governments in the last two years.


He also said that the exercise has equally unveiled new areas that will require attention and help in the actualization of the "Restoration Agenda" of his administration.

"So far so good, this tour has not only helped to bring goverance to the people. The meet the people platform of the tour has equally afforded us to have unbnaised and sincere assessment, observation, criticism and suggestions from the people.

"The tour is indeed an eye opener. We are discovering new areas of developmental challenges and the interesting thing is the sincere and geniune advice by our people. I am equally overwhelmed by the huge turnout of people at every council visited so far.

"I am happy that we have been able to envisage and make provisions for some of the demands by our people in 2017 budget and we intend to factor the rest issues raised into the 2018 budget.
"By and large, I am happy and the people are happy about the exercise. Our outing in Edati and Lavun local government areas today are excellent and mutually beneficial to all, the government and the people," the governor stated.

The tour continues in Bida and Gbako local government areas on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The mid-term assessment tour has taken the governor to Wushisi, Rafi, Mariga, Magama, Rijau and Kontagora. He has also visited Mashegu, Mokwa, New Bussa and Agwara.
