Re: PDP Staff Should Please Resume Duty - Mikko...Again, You Are A Quantity – PDP

The attention of the National Caretaker Committee (NCC) led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, CON, has been drawn to a statement credited to one Hon. Bernard
Mikko as the Ag. National Publicity Secretary of the PDP in which he called on the Establishment staff of the PDP to resume duty immediately or risk disciplinary action; and in addition, he referred to the NCC, a body constituted by the Supreme Organ of the Party, the National Convention as dissidents. Pathetic!

(2)  We would have ignored him as he is inconsequencial. But again, we wish to state unequivocally and in line with the statement published by the National Director of Administration, Engr. Gurama Bawa on Monday, March 6, 2017 on behalf of the Establishment staff that Hon. Bernard Mikko acting as National Publicity Secretary of the PDP is illegal, null, void and of no effect.

(3)  It is laughable to note that this 'quantity' contradicted himself by quoting Article 47(6) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Constitution (As Amended in 2012) in the Statement of Tuesday, March 7, 2017. For the record, the Article states as follows, “Where a vacancy occurs in any of the offices of the Party, the Executive Committee at the appropriate level shall appoint another person from the area or zone where the officer originated from, pending the conduct of election to fill the vacancy." In the light of the foregoing, the so called Hon. Bernard Mikko making reference to the said Article was clearly in violation of his acting as the National Publicity Secretary given that he is from Rivers State, South-South Zone of the Country. The emphasis here is that, SUCH A PERSON SHOULD BE APPOINTED FROM THE AREA OR ZONE THE OFFICER ORIGINATED FROM and the Officer holding that office before May 21, 2016 is Chief Olisa Metuh who hails from Anambra State, South-East of Nigeria.

(4) To still buttress, if the position of the National Publicity Secretary or any other position(s) is vacant, the Zone or Area where the individual that vacated originates from should be allowed to nominate someone to fill the vacancy in line with the Party Constitution. Therefore, the actions or activities of those parading themselves as officers of the PDP against the Recent Appeal Court Judgment in Port Harcourt on Status Quo Ante May 21st, 2016 and the Constitution of the PDP are doing so illegally and should be resisted by all the Organs of the Party, our members and teaming supporters nationwide, and security agencies in the interest of Party growth, democracy, the Rule of Law and our general good.

(5)  This element in a haste to castigate us made mention of a statement from "Wale Adewale" as the National Secretary of the PDP calling on staff to resume duty. We ask, who is Wale Adewale as the National Secretary of the PDP? It also goes to show that this unpopular Hon. Mikko is not only acting illegally as the Spokesman of the PDP but is also not conversant with the affairs and officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

(6)  To this end, we wish to re-iterate the clarion call by all stakeholders of the Party to return to Status Quo before the May 21, 2016 National Convention if they wish to comply with the Judgement because any decision or action taking by the present self-appointed NWC is in defiant of the Judgement and therefore illegal. We also wish to admonish these irritants to stop misinforming the public of the purported resignation of the officers.

Signed:

Prince Dayo Adeyeye
For: the NCC.
