CCT adjourns Saraki’s trial to April 5



The Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar yesterday adjourned to April 5 proceedings in the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki over allegations of false and anticipatory declaration of assets.


The adjournment granted at the instance of the prosecution came after Saraki’s counsel concluded cross examination of the third prosecution witness, Samuel Madojemu.
Under cross examination by Paul Erokoro (SAN), the witness re-affirmed that Saraki continued receiving remuneration from Kwara State Government after leaving office, saying he reached this conclusion after examining the bank statement of Saraki with Access Bank.
Prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) thereafter asked for a short adjournment so as to allow him prepare to re-examine the witness.
