A Memory Lane before 2015 Election: What if Jonathan Wins?

By Ibraheem Dooba

What if Jonathan Wins?

Contrary to to the sentiment that when Buhari becomes president, many people would run away from Nigeria, it's actually when Jonathan gets re-elected that people would run for cover.

For, unlike Buhari who'd be focused on righting the wrongs and solving our problems, Jonathan, his friends said, is rather vindictive.

He would find ways to inflict punishment on Atiku Abubakar for refusing to accept his offer, as recently as a few days ago, to work with him.

He would definitely impose a penalty on Asiwaju Tinubu for refusing to work in an interim government and then mentioning the secret offers to the world.

Remember Obasanjo told us in his book that the longest time he spent with the president, Jonathan wasted on complaining about his enemies.  Also, his former health commissioner said Jonathan confessed to him that he struggled with the notion of forgiveness - that is, he can't forgive!

The regions which refused to support him, namely, Northeast, Northwest and Southwest are in trouble!

What will happen to security?  As of this moment, the Chadian Army is complaining that Jonathan's soldiers are refusing to come forward to take over the liberated territories, leaving room for the crazy Boko Haram to return when the Chadians and Nigeriens get tired of staying.

Thus, if Jonathan wins a second term, insurgency would continue in the Northeast, and then Northwest and then Northcentral and he wouldn't give a damn!

If Jonathan wins re-election, what happens to our economy?  Remember The Economist of London said the economy is growing in spite of Jonathan NOT because of him?  Nigeria now is broke.

Sam Nda-Isaiah has been complaining for a very long time that Jonathan has been giving the states half of what they are due for some time.

What happens to our unity?  Nigeria has never been divided as we're now.

Please, friends, imagine the scenario of Jonathan winning the election and give me your thoughts - right now, I'm writing an article on this topic. Your contributions would help me.

Personally, I've never encouraged anyone to live in other countries for purposes other than education.  I've never coveted foreign citizenships, but if GEJ wins, that  would be grounds to think in that direction.
