Distribution of 2,200 Peace Corps Forms to Niger Youths

This is to notify the general public that Niger State Government has purchased 2,200 Peace Corps forms which has already been distributed to stakeholders of each local government to be shared to youths across the 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

This is was made known yesterday by the DG National Volunteer Services and Diaspora Relation Niger State, Babujee Mohammed Usman who shared the form to each Local Government stakeholder.

The DG stated that, this approach became necessary considering the high rate of youth unemployment in the society.

"This will mop the street of jobless youth" The DG said.

Youths in various wards will receive the forms through the stakeholders who included party chairmen, honourable commissioners, special advisers and council chairmen mandated to supervise and monitor the forms’ distribution to qualified youths.

It should however be noted that only Agwara is yet to receive theirs. This is however being sorted out and remedies would be made in earnest.

It is noteworthy that the act seeking the establishment of Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) has just been passed in the national assembly and now awaiting final assent of Mr president.

It is equally noteworthy that the purchase and distribution of the forms is another clear move by Governor Abubakar to fulfill his pledge to alleviate endemic poverty among the people through massive youth engagement and empowerment.
